New Podcast: Canadia -- politics on both sides of the border

I used to write a lot on Daily Kos and other progressive blogs, and after a long hiatus, I thought I would try a new way of promoting progressive political issues through a podcast.

Yes, yes, I am well aware that Daily Kos is a US-focused site, but I spend my days working on political issues here in Canada, but also a TON of time working on progressive political issues in the US having lived and worked with my family in the Washington, DC area for many years. And I know from having spent so much time on Kos over the years, that there are a lot of Canadians who are regular readers and contributors on Kos.

So I thought I would start posting here again and see what the Kos crowd thinks!

It’s called Canadia, which is term we Canadians who work in politics have used for a long time to talk about the fact that Canada and America are so intertwined in our cultures and politics. While there is no doubt we are different, we are also in so many ways the same.

Let me know what you all think! If I get good feedback I will post up new episodes here as we produce them.

This is the second episode here, where a big focus of the podcast was looking at the forgotten war in Yemen, where there is a proxy war underway between Iran and Saudi Arabia. It is a tragic situation with millions of people being driven from their homes in famine conditions. Mothers are having to choose which of their dying children should get to eat. It’s an absolutely heartbreaking situation and both the US and Canada are supplying weapons to the Saudis to continue this war.
